Our dev team has been hard at work over the past few weeks to bring you this exciting new feature. Now, for audio and video posts, you can enable a teaser!

This feature is perfect for paywall content, as it allows users to preview a portion of your audio or video before deciding to unlock the full version. However, you can enable teasers for any access level—public, private, exclusive, or paywall.

To activate a teaser, simply toggle the option below the video or audio component.

The teaser will be shown to users:

Note: The first 10 seconds of the file are skipped when creating the automatic teaser.

We've made a small change to this screen, hoping it will make a big impact! With recent improvements to the description field—now supporting more HTML tags, images, and etc—we decided to enlarge the description box. This gives you more space to get creative and make your content shine.

If you need even more space, just click the fullscreen button, and the description field will expand to fill the entire screen. To return to the post view, click the button again.

We’ve got some exciting updates and important bug fixes to share with you.

And speaking of bugs, here’s a quick joke: Why don’t programmers like nature? Because it’s full of bugs! (Okay, we promise that’s the last bad joke - now let’s dive into the updates.)

It seems our dropdown was a bit too eager for attention, refusing to close when it should and constantly staying in the spotlight. We’ve given it a little guidance on how to behave properly, and it should now know when to step back.

While not exactly a bug, the vertical image preview on the VideoFlix portal wasn’t accurately reflecting how it appears in the web application. Since the preview should closely match what end users see, we’ve made some adjustments to bring it in line. It should now provide a more accurate representation.

This new feature is available for both the Community (banner) and VideoFlix (billboard) themes. When you upload a new image from your computer, a modal will appear, allowing you to adjust the image within the crop area.

Please note that the crop area is fixed to ensure the best possible resolution. However, you can zoom in on your image using your mouse controls. In the future, we plan to introduce more advanced controls for this screen.

Similar to the previous update, this feature allows you to crop category images. When uploading a new category image, a modal will appear, letting you adjust the image within the fixed crop area. The same zoom functionality is available using your mouse controls, with more options to come in future updates.

Hello Monday! What better way to start the week than with some platform updates?

If your platform uses the Community theme, an image is no longer required to create or edit a category. You can simply add a title and a description, and you're done!

If your platform uses the VideoFlix theme, images are still required for categories. This is because the interface of this theme relies heavily on images for a good visual experience.

You might be wondering, 'What if my platform is using the Community theme and my categories have no images, and then I decide to switch to the VideoFlix version?' Don't worry; we've already thought about that. In this case, a default image will be added to the categories. You can then replace the default image at any time.

We felt that the old banner style didn't match the community look and feel, so we made changes to use the exact same size and layout as the Home Screen banner.

This is the new banner layout, and this image will be the default if you switch to the VideoFlix theme.

The VideoFlix card has received a new layout update. It now displays the type of post and the level of access. The design looks cleaner and more polished, and the hover animation is amazing.

We want to empower you to create blog-style posts, so we've added more options to the toolbar.

We've made some improvements to the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature.

PiP allows you to watch videos in a floating window, so you can keep an eye on what you’re watching while browsing through post comments, for example. Simply click play and scroll the screen, and the PiP window will automatically display. Don’t miss a second of the video!

We are thrilled to announce a major update: Free Plan users can now publish free content, a highly requested feature. Your free (public content that is not behind a paywall) will be ad-supported, ensuring you can share your creativity without barriers. As always, the option to create paywall content remains available, completely ad-free. Enjoy more flexibility and reach with FanHero's enhanced Free Plan!

We don't remember exactly why we decided to hide the side menu from the Community theme. At the time, it seemed like a good reason. But not anymore. So, we've added it back. The Community theme will now display the menu items (such as your website, social media links, etc.) if you wish to do so.

This setting will be available upon request. When enabled, a new post type will be displayed.

Visually, it resembles video posts, but instead of uploading a video, you will add a YouTube URL.

A thumbnail is required to ensure the content looks neat for your users.

We are delighted to unveil the latest release, a comprehensive update that goes beyond simply fixing bugs. This version is meticulously crafted to enhance the overall stability and functionality of the system, ensuring a smoother and more robust user experience.

This one is not technically a bug, but it was pretty annoying, I know. When creating a product in a content screen, you had to open the dropdown to select the product you had just created. A seemingly unnecessary step that we've happily addressed!

Our QA Team attempted to defend themselves by questioning why someone would add a space after the email ("juliana@test.com "). Frankly, we don't have a definitive answer. Perhaps it was intentional mischief or possibly an inadvertent addition by certain Android phones. Regardless, we treated it as an edge case, and rest assured, it has been addressed and resolved.

It was already in good shape, but we aimed for perfection. After implementing some UI changes, the My Feed section now appears flawless on mobile devices. Yay!

Not a bug, but rather an oversight in judgment. Leaving the share and embed icons accessible when the media is still in the process of transcoding was not ideal. If shared prematurely, nothing would happen as the media wasn't ready. We've learned to be more patient, and now these icons will only appear when the media is fully prepared for use.

In addition to addressing bug fixes, we're thrilled to share news about an exciting new feature: the default Channel, exclusively available in the Community theme. The default channel is a game-changer for user experience, serving as the initial point of interaction when users access the platform. It plays a pivotal role in shaping their overall experience, setting the stage for a seamless and engaging journey. How cool is that?

Customizing your Default Channel is a breeze! Just navigate to Settings & Members, click on Manage Channels, and choose your preferred default channel from the dropdown menu.

Oops, there was a bug in the My Feed section (Portal). The silver lining? It was a bit shy and only popped up when there were no posts. It was playing hide-and-seek and required a manual refresh for its grand reveal. But don't worry! Everything is back on track - no more manual refreshes.

Providing user feedback is as crucial as remembering to charge your phone – nobody wants that level of suspense in their tech life! So, we've added the transcode percentage for Audio files.

As part of our continuous journey to make your platform experience a breeze, we've given the Global Settings section a makeover. We get it – the lines between Organization and Channel were a bit blurry. Hopefully our revamped UI is here to ensure a smoother and more intuitive journey for you.

The Settings & Members section is now available at the bottom of the menu (if your role has enough permissions, of course).

We've seamlessly combined the Channel and Platform settings for your convenience, making it easier than ever to navigate. Your settings are just a click away.

Today is also Release Day! At least for us, here at FanHero. This week... not that it will happen every Wednesday. Well, it's just today...

Anyway, here is what our team has been working on in the past few weeks:

Remember my last release note? . Hint: When FanHero launched the new Community theme (yay!).

We have been working on some UI improvements for you.

To further enhance your experience and ensure ease of use, we've revamped the side menu with a renewed focus on simplicity and intuitiveness.

The sections Videos, Text, Image and Audio were removed, since the Community theme focus is on the Feed.

The My Channel section was moved to the bottom with a settings icon.

The 'Create' button centralizes the functionality to generate both posts (content) and products, streamlining the process for your convenience.

Clicking on the 'Create Content' button will display a modal with the following content types: Live, Video, Audio, Image and Text.

Upon selecting a post type, you will be redirected to the Add Post screen (the fields will change depending on the type of post you selected).

Under the 'Advanced Settings' option, you will find additional optional settings for your post.

This screen enables you to create a recurring product that can subsequently be added to a post, a category, or even your channel or organization.

Similar to the screen above, this screen enables you to create a one-time product that can subsequently be added to a post, a category, or even your channel or organization.

Yes, FanHero's latest feature - Digital Products! But, what is a Digital Product?

A digital product refers to any product that is intangible and exists in a digital or electronic format. These products are created, distributed, and consumed through digital means.

FanHero offers you the capability to create a Digital Product by merging two robust and widely-used features: post creation and product creation. With just one simple step, you can commence selling a variety of items such as a creatively edited video, an appealing image, an engaging text post on diverse topics, or even an audio post showcasing your singing talents.

Your Digital Product is distinctly identified within the web application, ensuring that users can easily recognize it as a separate and distinct offering from other items or content available.

When Ads are enabled within the video player on your platform, this setting will now extend to your embedded videos as well, ensuring that ads will be displayed within the embedded content.

As we were already working on the embed feature, we've dedicated additional time to introduce new functionalities and enhance security measures:

This setting can be found within its own dedicated tab on the Video Post Editing screen.

The 'Enable Embed' option is exclusively accessible for 'Public' posts. If your post is set to any access level other than 'Public', you'll need to switch the access level to 'Public' before activating this feature.

After enabling the setting, the embed code becomes available for placement on any webpage.

We have added newly redesigned dropdown fields.

The UI not only appears more refined and polished but also allows you to perform searches within the dropdown.

Since it's been some time without any release notes, we want to make sure you see how our team has been working really hard to deliver new cool features and, of course, some bugs fixes.

But you are probably asking yourself, why a release on a Friday?

Well, it shows that we are either very confident about our work or we are crazy. I will go with the first option!

On a completely unrelated topic.. do you know why software developers love to release new updates on Fridays?

Just kidding :) There are no bugs.

[Bug Fix] I don't know if you noticed, but the FanHero logo was not clickable on the video player (mobile web only). Maybe you didn't know that you could click on that logo. Now you know. And in case you are wondering, clicking on it will take users to our website.

[Bug Fix] Mobile web . What's happening with mobile devices? Ugh...

Anyway, the aspect ratio of some images on text posts was wrong, making the image look stretched. They look nice and proportional now.

[Feature] We were told that it didn't make sense that the side menu items were not available to users that were not logged in. I remember there was a reason, but since I couldn't find any proof of that... we made that change for you! The side menu items is now available for both logged in and not logged in users.

Some screens received the latest visual identification of the product. Make sure you check them out: My Channel, People, Simplified Checkout and Marketing (Push Notification).

Speaking of "People". This section not only got a new UI, but it also has some new features. When selecting a user, in addition to the personal information and the content analytics features that were already available, you will be able to see:

This is for portal users (admin users) only. When FanHero updates the Terms of Service, the next time you log in you will be notified that there is a new version of the terms and you must agree before continuing. If you decline, you will be logged out.

Admin users will be able to log in using Google.

Please note that if your user is not an admin and you try to log in using Google, it will not work. You must be an admin to be able to log into the portal. Not even Google can change that :)

Last but not least, this is a huge release! We've introduced a new theme: !

This theme is aimed for content creators, but it can be used by anyone. Bring your users more close to you and transform your audience into a thriving community!

Tenants and Super Admin users are able to choose which theme an Organization has. And it can be changed at anytime. Just go to Global Settings > Organization Theme and select the theme.

As soon as the change is made, it will be applied to both Portal and Web App. A simple refresh will make your users see the latest theme applied to the organization.

All the above was possible and supported by API changes.
